Game blocks remain an issue, and we expect them to continue for some time. It will take more work to restore full compatibility, but we don’t want you to feel stuck in the meantime.
With 9.1.3 we’ve added an Emergency Disable Driver option (Preferences → General → Emergency Disable Driver).
If a game refuses to launch, you no longer need to uninstall reWASD — just switch the driver off, play, and turn it back on when you need reWASD again. Please note: this option is meant for emergency use only. While the driver is disabled, reWASD will not function. A single click and a reboot are all it takes to apply the change.
Important: this option is not available in the ARM version of reWASD due to processor specifics. If we find a way to implement it there, we’ll release an update — though we hope it won’t be necessary.
On a more personal note: we know this situation is frustrating. Many users have told us they were made to remove reWASD even though they never used it with the affected games. This is especially harmful for disabled gamers who rely on reWASD not only in games but also for everyday PC navigation. We’ll share one of these stories soon to show why such restrictions hurt the wider community.
Our team is working around the clock, and we’re also testing different setups that may help some of you keep reWASD running. You’ve probably already heard about connecting through a second PC — whether it’s a laptop or even a mini PC — especially when using ESP32. Thank you to everyone who shares their own workarounds and discoveries. It always helpful.
Stay tuned — we’re not giving up.
