  • About game compatibility and a bit more

As some of you know, some games are currently incompatible with reWASD.

Users are experiencing that certain games (including Apex Legends) refuse to launch when reWASD is installed on the system. This happens even when the driver is disabled. In practice, these games require reWASD to be fully uninstalled before they can be launched, and for today, it's the only option.

On our end, we are actively investigating this behavior to ensure stability and a smooth user experience. Once we have more clarity or a viable solution, we will inform our community. It’s also possible that, to avoid conflicts, we may need to introduce limitations on using reWASD with specific games, as we did before.

We stand for fair and accessible gameplay. At the same time, we have to acknowledge that some game-side restrictions go far beyond interactions with reWASD itself and affect users regardless of whether the tool is being actively used.

For now, if you are not planning to play games that currently enforce this restriction, reWASD remains fully usable. It works as advertised, without functional limitations, and continues to be developed as a powerful remapping and accessibility tool.

As an alternative setup, users can run reWASD on a separate PC — even a very basic one — using ESP32-S2 or ESP32-S3 boards. This allows reWASD to operate independently from the main gaming system and avoids compatibility conflicts entirely.
