This release brings two major additions: full support for the new Steam Controller and Analog Key Control, a brand-new Advanced feature for analog keyboards.
So, let’s start with something you’ve been asking us for over the past few months. Still wondering whether the new Steam Controller is worth buying? We can finally say: go for it. And no, this isn’t sponsored. 🙂 And if you already have one - today is your lucky day.
With reWASD 9.5, you can take the new Steam Controller beyond Steam and use it without a Steam Machine or being tied to the Steam ecosystem. And when we say full support, we mean it: trackpads, back grip buttons, Grip Sense, sticks, triggers, gyro, accelerometer, and the rest of its controls are available for remapping and customization in reWASD.
Connect it via USB, Bluetooth, or the wireless dongle, build your own configs, and use the controller the way you want - wherever you want.
And the Steam Controller isn’t the only hardware getting more freedom in reWASD 9.5.
Meet Analog Key Control, our new Advanced feature for analog and magnetic keyboards. Switch between digital and analog modes, assign different actions to different press zones, set deadzones and actuation points, fine-tune Rapid Trigger sensitivity - and make a single key behave differently depending on how deep you press it.
For this first release, we tested and fine-tuned Analog Key Control with Wooting 80HE, Wooting Two HE, Razer Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz, Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini, and Razer Huntsman V2 Analog.
So, what do we know so far? We expect it to work across the Wooting analog keyboard lineup, so if you have another Wooting model - give it a try and let us know how it goes.
With Razer, things are a little trickier: different keyboards can report their analog input differently, so we’ll be adding and verifying more models as we go. If yours isn’t on the list, try it anyway and reach out to our Support team. In some cases, we may even be able to add support remotely - but only with your help.
And this is only the beginning for Analog Key Control. We’ll keep developing the feature, adding more keyboards and more vendors - SteelSeries is already on our radar.
Now tell us what you’re using. Wooting? Razer? SteelSeries? Something else entirely? Drop your analog or magnetic keyboard model in the comments - it’ll help us decide what to support next.
And while you’re here, tell us how reWASD 9.5 is working for you.
