  • Gyro - player space, world space, yaw and roll blending

So, JoyShockMapper has 3 settings for gyro:
    - One axis (like the only one in reWASD)
    - World space (like nintendo - as you tilt the controller vertically, the contribution of yaw to horizontal turning decreases and the contribution of rolling increases. Supposedly it sucks.)
    - Player space (the base formula is sqroot(yaw^2+roll^2), which combines both axies without making the sensitivity outright doubling the sensitivity when you use a blend of both axies.)

    Here's a blog article about these 3:

Recently, Steam has received an update with Yaw and Roll blending. It's a dumbed down implementation of the previous ideas, but it has its merit in that it vastly expands the horizontal range of movement by simply adding the two axies together rather than trying to retain the feeling of consistent sensitivity.

So, I'd suggest Steam-like "yaw/roll contribution" sliders and a toggle for player space (which would turn off the sliders of course).

    Hello!

We are familiar with this mode, and yes, it is in our to-do list. Thanks for the information about Steam — we will check their implementation too.
However, at the moment, I am not sure when we will be able to add it to reWASD.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we have no ETA to implement this.

afaik World Space is just harder to implement right, but with current Steam input implementation I'm using it all the time, either that or 'Laser pointer' mode (which feels same to me), and that's what I want - for gamepad to work like laster pointer in terms of projecting it's movement to 2D cursor, feels more natural and allows you to change pose over play session, when you may hold gamepad slightly tilted to either side, and it doesn't matter as long as you feel where it's supposed to be pointed at, relatively.
I pretty much stopped using ReWASD because I feel like it has inferior gyro implementation in this sense, and I'd like to use trigger zones for different amounts of gyro sensitivity reduction, but there's no such feature. Steam at least have option for half-press or full press of either specific trigger or both, and amount of gyro dampening.
