  • Create multiple keyboards/mice.

reWASD can already create multiple virtual gamepads but not different virtual keyboards and mice, why is that? would be really useful.

By default, reWASD uses a single keyboard and mouse devices for remapping.
It is possible to remove them and send remapped inputs as if from your physical devices with keyboard and mouse functions.

But why might you need multiple virtual keyboards or mice on the same system?

I know that there are games which recognize different nice and keyboards like Serious Sam. If you will remap multiple gamepad to k/m you will control only one user. But usually games which support multiple keyboards, they have good support for other input methods, so it's possible to use there Virtual DS4 for separate configuration. But maybe TestoMan has different use case like using it in emulators which ignore virtual gamepad inputs and he needs separate k/m profiles or somewhere else.

Yeah Flame Man is right, there are games, emus and apps that support multiple keyboards and mice, you could in theory map more gamepads to multiple virtual keyboards and mice or remap them.

Sounds interesting, how do you do that?

Open → Input Devices and select your keyboard and mouse from the respective dropdowns.

This won't add an extra keyboard and mouse like you wanted, but it will make the system accept virtual emulated input on behalf of your physical devices.

Apologies for the necro, but this is basically exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm using Nucleus Co-op to play several games in local multiplayer that don't natively support it. However, some of them (such as Raft) do not support gamepads, and will not even accept multiple players without the matching number of keyboards. As a result I need to somehow create multiple virtual keyboards that are being controlled by the actual physical controller, since Nucleus will only see the one physical keyboard that exists. The other option, using multiple physical keyboard and mouse setups, isn't really viable because of the space.
