  • Mapping Joy-Con motions

Quite a few tools allow joy-con gyro movement to be mapped to stick or mouse inputs, but so far no one has allowed joy-con movements to be mapped to buttons. I'd love it if REWASD could implement this functionality, allowing me to turn almost any game into a fun workout.

The premise is that shaking a joy-con will trigger a button input. This means there should be a (perhaps adjustable) sensitivity threshold, so it only activates during firm sudden movements. This should be fairly simple to implement, because directionality is irrelevant.

With this functionality, there would be two available inputs. For instance you could map shaking the left joy-con to the (native) L button and shaking the right joy-con to the R button, or to a virtual controller's button or keyboard/mouse button.

An even more advanced version would allow the differentiation between vertical shakes and horizontal shakes, meaning four inputs. But this might be harder to implement and having two inputs would already be amazing.

    Thank you for your consideration.
