  • Sub-layers for Shift Layers

This might already be a feature, but if so I couldn't figure it out. It'd be useful if we could assign a new shift layer as a "sub-layer" of another shift layer; e.g., it treats the parent layer as the default layer and inherits only that layer's mappings. This would be helpful in situations where you have multiple shift layers and want more precise control; e.g., if I jump to a "gyro on" layer by holding left trigger, I might want to jump to a separate gyro-specific layer with another activator while still holding the trigger, but only when in the gyro-on layer (i.e., only when holding the trigger). Once in the new layer, I might want one activator to perform a different function or jump to a different layer, but only if I arrived at that layer via the first gyro-on layer.

With a sub-layer I could avoid having to create an individual layer for each activator (which would basically serve as a "reset" for those layers when activated). In one config I have to have basically the same layer repeated multiple times depending on which activator I'm using, and this was the only thing I could think of to make it simpler. Basically they would provide an automatic "reset" if you needed to create a new layer accessible only through its parent layer. I hope I'm making sense, trying to explain it is almost as confusing as trying to configure it was!

Hi. reWASD does not have such functionality. However, thank you for your suggestion. We will discuss it with our team; however, we can't promise anything.
