Keyboard doesn't appear to work

I'm on a laptop and my keyboard doesn't appear to be recognized.
I have my mouse on USB and it recognizes that as "USB Receiver" and the mouse remappings work fine
my keyboard pulls up as "HID Keyboard Device", However when I map the keyboard to controller buttons, it simply doesn't work, I'll click apply, the mouse will work fine but the keyboard mappings don't work at all. Any help is appreciated.

Please, Please reinitialize the keyboard this way. It showed a mouse on the screenshot, but the mechanic is similar. Try to reproduce the problem then. Also, do you try to use KMB as a controller? If so, don't forget to group devices.
