  • Not working with Phantasy Star Online 2 (PSO2)

So I'm trying to use my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for PSO2 and it's not working no matter what I try. I normally set the controller to nothing and it works, but sometimes when I close the game and open it back up, the controls won't work anymore and I'd have to restart my entire PC for it to work again. I'm just not sure how this program works. For this program to work for Fortnite, I need to change it to a virtual PS4 controller but in game the buttons show up as Xbox buttons, it doesn't make sense. When I try virtual PS4 controller for PSO2 it doesn't work at all, when I change it to virtual Xbox controller, only some things work, for example, the right stick doesn't work at all and neither does start nor select. Nothing makes sense when I'm using ReWASD and I feel like a program I bought should not be this buggy. I have to do so many workarounds just to get my Switch Controller to work with any game, another example would be GTA 5, I had to do a bunch of things just to get it to work. I just don't get what's the issue with this program and literally any game I try to use it with.

    Hello,
    Let's step bu step.

#1. I suppose that the provided game doesn't support the Nintendo Switch Pro, so you need to play as Xbox (or DS4) controller or set keyboard mappings to a controller and play as the keyboard and mouse. To create a virtual controller you may use the magic wand -http://recordit.co/dEn0QbSnKA. In this case, the system will detect your physical controller as virtual created ones. The game would also see it as Xbox or DS4 ( the same for Fortnite). Do you want to play with gamepad's controls, not as the keyboard, don't you?

#2. Then it may be a chance that the game doesn't pick up a virtual controller at once. So, please, try to restart the game or reboot your PC with Remap turned ON. Usually, it helps.

#3. When you try virtual PS4 controller for PSO2 it doesn't work at all, when I change it to virtual Xbox controller, only some things work, for example, the right stick doesn't work at all and neither does start nor select - does it work out of the game? Please, open the joy.cpl (type joy.cpl in Windows search and open the utility). Apply config and check if all controls are responsive.
If so, restart the game with active mappings (or reboot according to #2) and check whether the game sees the controller.
    Don't worry! Be Happy!

When I close the game and re-open it, it works, but I don't understand why and I don't understand that why when I set my controller as virtual DS4 controller in fortnite, it shows Xbox buttons, I know it's not a big deal but I'm just trying to understand what's going on here, when I use virtual Xbox for PSO2, the same buttons don't work, but when I use it as virtual DS4, it works but normally in this game, when a gamepad is detected, the buttons on screen will change to PS4/Xbox buttons depending on the controller just like on Fortnite but it doesn't so there's definitely some kind of bug with the program while converting the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to a virtual PS4/Xbox controller. I would really appreciate it if you guys could look into this, this has been an issue I've looked pass since I bought this tool but it gets really annoying sometimes when I have to restart my game for my controller to work.

So I figured out instead of restarting the game/PC, taking remap off then putting it back on fixes it which is a relief, but I still don't know why only DS4 virtual works for PSO2 and Fortnite, although it doesn't really matter because they're effectively the same but I just want to understand.

          Hello,

You may set what controller would be displayed in the Fortnite settings, here - https://prnt.sc/t08lq5. So, it's not a software bug, just one of the game settings. So if you use DS4 but the controller platform is selected as Xbox 360, the game will show the Xbox layout.

It may be a chance that the game doesn't pick up a virtual controller properly and see the physical gamepad instead of a virtual one. Usually, the game restart helps or PC reboot with remap turned ON if the game restarting didn't help. reWASD emulates virtually controller equal to a physical one, so the virtual Xbox should work after PC restart. Doesn't it work after PC restart?
