  • How does one map Xbox for PC games?

It tells me to select an .exe to assign the mapping too. The problem is that one is unable to access Xbox for PC games folder as Microsoft has locked it out.

    Hello,

The exe requires t use the Autodetect option.

Meaning you don't have access to the game directory or can't find it? What game exe file(s) do you try to add, what game? Some UWP games do have hidden folders. When we tried to add Forza to Autodetect, we had to type in the .exe name manually to the config. So that's what I wanted to suggest.

Also, any chance you could change the permissions for that game?

Been having issues with this one some games as well. Many of the games downloaded through the Xbox app on Windows are installed into folders that are both hidden, and have some very weird ownership settings, such as the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ folder - without going in and changing ownership of this folder, you can't even view the contents, let alone get to any of the game executables. Even after changing ownership for the folder and all subfolders, ReWASD seems to have problems accessing some of the .exe files inside.

        Hello,

The WindowsApps folder is located under the Program Files directory.
Changing the permissions and checking "Hidden items" for the folder with game files will permit to actually look at what that folder contains, and see if there are any other exe files, like this article describes.

What exe file(s) of what game(s) do you try to add? Is this some specific game or any installed from Windows Store?

Note, that you also can use the Slots feature to save a config for the game to one slot and the desktop config to another slot. Using shortcuts you can switch applied configs. It's like an alternative way.
