Grouping two arcade sticks

I'm hoping to use the grouping feature to group two Mayflash F300 arcade sticks together. I have it working, but not as I hoped.

I can map both arcade sticks to a single virtual controller, but the buttons on both seem to have to share the same mapping. For example, if I map the A button on the left controller to X, the A button on the right controller also becomes X when I actually want it to be something else.

Is there a way to update the mappings of one controller in a group independently of the other?

You just need to add a subconfig for the 2nd controller in the group.

At the config itself, near keyboard, mouse, gamepad tabs, there is a plus. Press on it and add another tab for the second controller.
Set controller#1 in the 1st tab, controller#2 in the 2nd tab.
