Despite troubleshooting can't get any mapped inputs to register from keyboard/mouse

Ive imported and verified settings for xcloud gaming using virtual controller with mouse and laptop keyboard as input. Xcloud recognizes the virtual controller (and connects) however even in the rewasd app the test controller wont log any key strokes or mouse movements as virtual controller inputs. Checking initializing my keyboard and mouse both register as keyboard with track pad. It doesnt give me an option to change that and i think thats the issue but dont know how to fix it. Currently cant use the program at all so help would be appreciated

Try clearing the data.
Go to → General → Clear data button.
Confirm the action and wait for the GUI to restart.

After that, try searching for your devices using Detection mode.
