Mapping a keyboard to an existing controller?

So I have my dualshock 3 setup for a game I am playing and have certain buttons mapped to keyboard inputs and set as a virtual xbox 360 as it goes. But is there a way for me to make it so I can press a key on my keyboard and it is detected as an input on that same controller? When I try and do this it becomes a separate virtual controller unrelated to the one I am using. And since the game I am playing can only take one controller, pressing the keyboard does nothing. Thanks.

You can group your DS3 with a keyboard, and then all virtual controller mappings in your config will play on behalf of one virtual controller.
