  • Finals Patched?

I can no longer launch/play the finals without getting an anti cheat kicked error. I dont have rapid trigger or combo on. I tested and played games without rewasd open and it was perfectly fine. Any fixes?

    Hello!

Can you attach a screenshot of this error with your next reply?

Here are the most recent patchnotes for The Finals.

      The final point reads:
      • Clients running key re-mapping programs on PC will not have access to aim assist.
Please tell me REWASD will be updated to evade this. As of now, REWASD is not working on The Finals.

          Nope.

If the developers consider it cheating, then so be it.
reWASD is remapping software, not a fancy cheat.

Will you work on this? It's currently unusable. This is the first time I've met a game that doesn't run rewasd.

Work on what? There is nothing to fix.

Aim assist is not reWASD functionality - it is provided by game developer, so we can't "fix" anything. If game developer has decided to disable it for some controller configuration it is his right. Maybe some workarounds could be done by reWASD, but this would be against EULA and could be considered cheating. In such situation it is best to contact game support and request explanation.

I found a workaround. By starting reWASD while in a game and then closing as soon as the game ends, you will be good to do whatever you please. If kicked out of a game for some reason, relaunch and join back.

How can developers balance the use of remapping software with anti-cheat measures to maintain fair play while accommodating legitimate user needs?

I'm not sure that I understand what exactly the balance is. Don't confuse cheats with software for remapping and device emulation.
Many use the mouse as a virtual stick to get aim assist from the game itself in some games. However, this is a feature of the game itself for players using a gamepad and, moreover, you still need to get used to the gameplay, because a regular mouse is quite different from a controller stick (even an emulated one).

reWASD does not break the mechanics of the game like real cheats. For example, spinbot in CS, which literally makes headshots for the player, or some advanced bots for MMORPG games that automate the character progress process while you sleep.
