Game Controller Detected but not applied

Hi,I am having trouble getting reWASD to work. This is my first time trying to use it and have followed a few guides. It seems when I apply the config it immediately turns off even though mouse input is muted. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Your devices are initialized incorrectly. Please follow the instructions in case #24 here.

Hey thank you, I just went through the steps in #24 and it is behaving the same way. As soon as I press apply, it greys out for a sec and then comes back. The controller appears in joy.cpl but does not register any movement in properties.
