Is it possible to set preferences by config instead of global?

Specifically I want to have a slot on my Elite 2 that can use combos for some repetitive tasks in game and another that doesnt hide the physical controller for when Im in combat. I can only run combos if I hide the physical controller but the virtual controller seems unreliable with holding triggers when changing layers.

Toggling this button is what I want different between configs but Im not seeing a way to set that up atm.

This setting is global, but we will consider your suggestion.
In your case, you can use the apply to a physical device option to avoid the need to create a virtual one.
