  • Flydigi Vader 3 Pro Native PS4 Gyro

I thought that the 8.0 update (Gyroscope Support: Added support for the third gyroscope axis in Flydigi Vader 3 Pro.) would bring support for emulating the PS4 native gyro on the Flydigi Vader 3 Pro. But I still can't do it. Did I misunderstand?

    Hey there!

Unfortunately, this is still not possible because the controller does not have a physical accelerometer.

What about controllers that do have physical accelerometer? currently, I don't see any way to map something to accelerometer values, as opposed to rotation in ReWASD. And I actually doubt that Vader 3/4 Pro or any controller that uses Switch Pro mode really doesn't have accelerometer data, because it should by the specifications. For instance, when I use my KK2 Pro or KK3 Max in Dolphin emulator as Switch Pro controller, it picks up full gyro data, including accelerometers, so you can use gestures like shaking controller in specific directions.
So that is what could be useful, having stuff like creating motion gestures as certain action bindings. like doing a dodge action when shaking left and right, or maybe something else in a shift layer context

        Hi!

At the moment, reWASD does not support accelerometer-based inputs, only gyroscope-based rotation.

          Hi,

I’m using a Flydigi Vader 4 Pro with reWASD and have some questions about using thegyro.
          • When I connect the controller in NS mode, reWASD detects it as a Nintendo Switch Pro controller. This allows me to map the physical gyro to a virtual DS4 gyro, but I cannot map the back buttons.
          • When I connect in D-Input mode, reWASD correctly detects it as a Vader 4 Pro, and I can map the back buttons, but I cannot map the physical gyro to a virtual DS4 gyro.
I still don’t understand why reWASD can handle gyroscopes in NS mode but not in D-Input mode.

Is there any way to enable both functions at the same time—mapping both the back buttons and the gyro properly?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

            Hi Meltsun

Unfortunately, no; It's technically not possible.

              Thanks for your response!

May I ask why? Is it because the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro does not send complete gyro data to the PC in D-Input mode?

I’m also planning to buy a new controller soon. Which controllers can have both back button and gyro support in reWASD at the same time?
I think the DualSense Edge might work, but I’m not sure and would love to hear about other options as well.

DualSense Edge will be a good choice in your case.

                  Thanks for your suggestion!

But I’d like to confirm—based on what you know so far, aside from the DualSense Edge, is there really no other controller that can have both back button and gyro support in reWASD at the same time?

There are no other controllers with additional buttons and access to the gyroscope remap.

Yes, i does not. In fact all 3 gyro axes work on Vader 3 , Vader 4 Pro and Apex 4, but they all report "weird" accelerometer axes in Dinput so reWASD cannot use it (unlike in Switch mode).
And we have not solved this problem yet.
