  • Forgot how to get controller working with steam , had to re install

Hi , so my pc crashed and i had to redo windows and re install everything . So i have the advanced tools as well as reWASD , and i hit the wand and tick the box for " mute all". Which assigns like a circle with a dash through it for all the buttons . I then assign the keyboard keys in reWASD to the Xbox controller. But in game the buttons don't work , or i should say they do different things , not the keyboard buttons they are assigned , like it's using a different configuration . i disabled input in steam . didn't change , i had it working before the re install , i just can't recall what else i had to do. I thought i only had to mute it so it would use only the keyboard keys assigned to it. Only other thing i noticed , is before when i hit " apply to slot 1" , it would show in the corner that it was applied , but it don't do that now. Any help? Thanks

    Hey there!

    1. Please ensure that you have correctly initialized and grouped your devices.
    2. Ensure that all the buttons you intend to use are remapped to the controller and that the Mute function is applied to them.
    3. Ensure that controller support is disabled in the Steam controller settings.

If the issue persists, please send us a screenshot of the FULL reWASD window showing your mouse mappings, as well as a screenshot of your device group.

To resolve this issue, ensure that reWASD is correctly applying your configuration. First, verify that your reWASD profile is active by selecting the correct slot and clicking Apply. If the notification doesn't appear, check if the reWASD service is running in the background. Then, confirm that Steam Input is entirely disabled for the game by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, selecting Properties, and setting Enable Steam Input to Forced Off or Disabled. Additionally, ensure the controller is set as the preferred device in the game settings. Finally, double-check the reWASD mapping to ensure no conflicting configurations are active. Restart reWASD and Steam to apply changes.
