  • Stick Drift Remapping Not Saving After Reboot

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to reWASD and just started exploring all its features - really impressed so far! I’ve been trying to remap my left stick to filter out a slight drift (using the zone adjustment), and it works great while the app is running. However, every time I reboot my PC, the drift filter seems to reset, even though the config is saved and applied on startup.
I’ve checked the auto-apply setting, and the correct config appears to load. But the left stick drift comes back unless I manually re-apply the config again after booting. Am I missing something? Maybe a startup setting or a service that isn’t running?
I'm on Windows 11 with an Xbox Series controller via Bluetooth.

    Hey there!

Could you please send us a video showing the stick drift in the tester when the config is applied automatically, and the absence of stick drift after you apply the config manually?

The video should clearly show the entire process so we can investigate the issue in more detail and try to reproduce it on our side.

Having your stick drift remap reset every time after reboot can be really annoying. It defeats the whole point of customizing settings. Hopefully reWASD can sort this out so users do not have to repeat everything after each restart.

The dead zone setting is saved in the config file locally on your PC. If rebooting your PC changes anything in this local file, then this is a question about the health of your system.

If you apply the config file after booting your PC (or it is applied automatically), the dead zone setting should be automatically applied and remove the drift.
