  • Can't open from System Tray (Windows 11)

I had a random message alert the other day from reWASD saying something along the lines if the background worker can't work or isn't responding (I forget the message and wish I had screenshot it!) - it said to try running as administrator - which got rid of the message since restarting, *however* now I can't open rewasd from the system tray icon. I have to use the desktop shortcut. if I right click on the icon in the system tray and select Open reWASD, nothing happens.

reWASD *is* working for me so not sure why the GUI is being weird! it started roughly a few days ago. Not sure if some other windows update is buggering it up again. I can still use reWASD though and as I say, If I run it from the desktop icon, it WILL open the full GUI, just doesn't open from system tray.

Hi! Have you tried doing a full clean reinstall of reWASD using our instructions?
    1. Uninstall reWASD with the "Remove my settings and activation info" option enabled.
    2. Restart your PC.
    3. Manually delete or rename the c:\ProgramData\Disc-Soft\reWASD\ folder.
    4. Download and install these two packages: ASP.NET Core 9.0 Runtime and .NET 9.0 Desktop Runtime.
    5. Temporarily disable your firewall and anti-virus apps so they will not interfere with our installer.
    6. Download and install the latest version of reWASD from our website or your personal account.
    7. Restart your PC again.
    8. Start reWASD.

I did a full clean install of the entire OS last week when there was other windows bugs etc. (I went scorched earth and just obliterated everything - after a backup of course)
So it's essentially already a clean install... Although I will try the steps you've laid out above anyway and report back
