  • Inconsistent analog behavior on Nintendo switch virtual?

I'm making this post to let someone know that there seems to be some sort of inconsistency when using analogs on Nintendo switch virtual with a physical PS5 dualsense.

I use Nintendo switch virtual because it works best with right analog absolute percentage binds with my d-pad. The game that I play has two actions when I use right or left on the right analog stick and I want to prevent one of them from happening everytime I press the right or left.

I was successful with how I went my binds to work, however whenever I physically press down or use an absolute percentage bind for down on the right analog stick, something changes and it throws off my percentage binds on the d-pad giving me the action I don't want when I hit left or right. It's as if the dead zone and analog range changes to another console virtual device even though Rewasd still says I'm still using Nintendo switch virtual.

Whenever this happens, I have to reset my config back to normal control behavior and then switch back to Nintendo switch virtual config to get my binds working right again.

The down on the right analog stick just changes the camera in game so I can look whats behind me. For now, it's not really a big deal that I can't use it but If you guys can look into this and fix this sometime in future, I would appreciate it.

    Hi!
    1. Please send me the config you are using. Your configs are stored here: C:\Users\Public\Documents\reWASD\Profiles. I need the corresponding *.rewasd file.
    2. Check if you can reproduce your issue here: https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad
    3. Is the "Hide physical controller when the virtual one is created" option turned on?
    You can find it here:

Hello, thanks for responding. Look's like I should have been a little more patient before making this post and do more experimenting. I found a work around using Xbox 360 virtual by turning it's analog zone into a total square. Now I get 100% of the action without triggering the one I don't and I'm also able to use the camera when pushing down on the right analog stick without any side effects like on the Switch virtual.

Even if I tried to replicate the problem with this gamepad tester you linked, I wouldn't know how to point out the problem because all the inputs look exactly the same, yet for some reason these exact inputs had different analog behavior during gameplay after I used down on the right analog, It was weird. The best option to show the problem would have been to for me to make a video with reswad's controller overlay while the game on. This game I'm talking about forces fullscreen. But yeah, since I found a work around I'm glad I don't have to do any of that. Thanks again for responding and trying to help.
