  • DualSense Edge through Bluetooth shuts off LED completely

Hello. I have led settings set with rewasd for my dualsense edge controller to set to really dim blue color. which works fine while wired and upon starting games that support dualsense natively these rewasd set led colors still remain intact.

But when I connect my dualsense edge with Bluetooth, my custom LED blue color i set in rewasd work fine until i start a game which supports dualsense controller.
controles itself works fine with ps5 button promts in game and adaptive triggers and such but LED light completely shuts off upon such game lunch and keeps off even after exiting the game.
The only way to re-enable LED is to click Apply to Slot 1 in rewasd again (this could be done even with game lucnhed). But still this is a big inconvoncinievce for me.

So I have 2 main questions why this is happening on Bluetooth only? and how to keep my rewasd set led settings intact on Bluetooth?

*LED not working with bluetooth really break my setup where i have all dualsense supported games on blue color and all xbox controller map games on green.

LEDs work on "change on request" basis and accept requests from anything.
If the LED shuts down (goes black) when running a certain game, that's due to the game's request.

You can try overriding the game's request by enabling these options in [Preferences > LED Settings]:
    • Prevent other apps from using LED
    • Common LED > Enable LED when controller is connected > Loop
However, the result is not guaranteed.

Yes I have both those options enabled which clearly doesn't prevent other apps from using LED - it's still shuts down by majority of games.
Any idea why this is happening on Bluetooth only and not happening on Wired?
or perhaps there's a way to update this option so it actually functions as described and prevent other apps from overriding anything for LED ?

I suppose technical differences and limitations are at play here. But I'm afraid I won't be able to point to anything specific.

The "update" is probably impossible, since "overriding" in this case means "spamming more than anyone else", which is a bad thing to do over a wireless connection.

Do you know if it's possible to make rewasd reapply slot 1 remapping like it was before lunching the game that overtakes the led?
i have to open rewasd and apply slot 1 each time i wont to get colors back after running such games (which are like 80% of the my library now)

            Autodetect can solve this issue.
It will enable remapping whenever the associated app is in focus and disable it when focus is lost (alt-tab out of the game and back into the game).

Thanks for suggestion. Though my default profile that i want to be replied after exiting this games that overtake LED it is covering 90% of the games and while in windows for me.
would be too much of different exe processes to add and manage.
Wondering if there's a way to have it reaply slot 1 profile that was there before game overtook LED

You can disable the [Remove applied config from slot on exit from the associated app] option at [Preferences > Tray Agent] and enable Autodetect for your "default profile" for [explorer.exe] and maybe some other app that you use or ALT+TAB to frequently.
