  • Xbox controller - Select / Start Buttons > Shortcut as ALT + TAB

    Hello there,

I'm sorry if this has been previously answered. I tried searching for posts with this topic, but only saw 1 post and it didn't quite make sense to me.

I'd like to use the Select and Start buttons on the Xbox Controller to be used as ALT+TAB function identical to using it on keyboard when cycling through applications. A few years back I used rewasd for this exact purpose, but I'm struggling with recreating this again in the application. I just want to be able to hold ALT (Select) and then TAB (Start) cycle through applications that are open one by one and let go of both buttons when I land on the correct application I want to switch to.

    I hope this makes sense.

    Hi!
To achieve that, you can do the following:
    1. Map the Single press activator of "Select" as Alt
    2. Then, map Start press activator of "Select" as Tab
    3. And then map the Single press activator of "Start" as Tab

      Hi Gogeba,

Thank you so much for your guidance and instructions. I followed those steps and was able to getting it working. For anyone that tries to follow this and is using Windows 11, you'll also have to disable any on-screen keyboards (Accessibility) and Windows Xbox game bar features. Those two features were getting in the way from actually selecting which application I wanted to switch to with this process.

Thanks again Gogeba, I really appreciate your help!
