  • Apply to physical device with FlyDigi

    Hi,

When using Vader 5 Pro it is not possible to use "emulate as physical device", is this intended? There are only virtual devices in the list.

With my Wolverine that was recognized as "generic Xbox" I was very happy with this feature because it guaranteed compatibility even with 'difficult' games such as Inti Creates games.

The virtual devices created by reWASD are not recognized by these games no matter what I do. It only recognizes my gamepad when I disable reWASD. Is there a solution for this?

reWASD can use only a few physical controllers as output devices. Check this article for details.

Some games and apps intentionally ignore virtual controllers. To counter that, try enabling these two options:
    • "Create virtual devices under physical hub" at "Preferences > Input Devices".
    • "Use with PS Remote Play" at output device settings when a virtual DS4 controller is selected as output device.

I tried using the "virtual device under physical hub", it does not help.

I did read that article, but I'm not sure how to understand "Xbox controllers family". It works with my Wolverine which is third party.

"Xbox controllers family" includes Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, Xbox Elite, and Xbox Elite 2 series.

Try using the virtual DS4 controller.

Then how come it works with Wolverine? It's not even natively supported by reWASD and it is not mentioned in the list. It just shows as "generic Xbox" in reWASD but I can use it in physical mode.

No luck with DS4 emulation, the physical mode is the only thing that works for these games so it's too bad that I can't use it with my Vader.

Because Wolverine identifies and works as "a generic Xbox" controller, which reWASD can use as an output device.

Just to clarify, do you apply a config before the game is started or after? Some games check for connected controllers only once at the start, so they are likely to ignore controllers connected mid-game. You might also be able to use Steam Input with the virtual controller.

I tried applying the config in advance, but no luck with that either. Indeed it seems to be the detection at the start that is the problem, strange thing is *sometimes* I can make it through while messing around, enabling/disabling reWASD, reconnecting controller and so on. But I don't understand how I did it and then the next time I can't replicate it.

I found something else, it might be related.

I played a different game, my controller was detected and everything was fine.
But after turning off the controller and on again, it was not recognized by the game.
reWASD detected my gamepad after turning it on, just the game did not.
Restarting the game, still not recognized.

I had to go to services and restart the "Mapping Service" that comes with reWASD called "jlserv".
After that, starting the game, controller was working again.
That is a workaround I can use but I feel like it should not be necessary?
