  • Control stick sensitivity with shoulder trigger

    Hello guys,

Bear with me, I'm new here. I did some research, but am still confused about what is and it's not possible with reWASD.

I would like my analog shoulder trigger (R2/L2) to influence the sensivity of my right analog stick.

That way I could have precise aim, but with R2+stick also have fast flick movement.

As both inputs can be learned to perfection even something like a 360 should be possible with a controller.

From a programming standpoint it would take one analog Input and multiply it with the other one. The trigger input curve would start with 1 obviously so you don't multiply with 0 when there is no input detected.

I didn't quite understand if reWASD supports custom scripts that would allow something like this. Clearly there is script support, but I'm not sure it's free enough to allow something like this to be scripted.

Or if it's possible for me to go under the hood of reWASD and create something for myself.

If there is no way to do this right now, kindly consider it as me submitting an idea

I found a way that comes quite close: If I would assign shift modes to the three trigger zones, with each shift mode having a different sensitivity curve I would almost achieve what I want. It would still be somewhat cumbersome as I imagine a stepped acceleration be harder to learn than a fully analog one, but it's not too far off. I will do some testing.
Still I keep the question open in case the is a better way to do it.

Please delete the double post, or melt the two topics into one. I tried to edit my original one, but it's not possible, due to forum rules.

    best regards

Seriously, I have spent two evenings searching for a solution and the second i pull the trigger and spam the forum I find a workaround.

      Sorry for spamming the forums.
I super appreciate the work of the reWASD team, and will purchase all the necessary modules now.

        Hello!

Seems you have found the closest solution we have now: using Shift mode allows you to set different curve that will be active when you press and hold the trigger.

However, you can't set a zone as a modifier, so the only thing you can do is to set one different stick curve for one Shift.
I suggest you to make a pretty drastic curve for the Shift mode, something like this:

With this curve, your stick will go to max value even if you pushed it on the half distance only.

There is no way to add a customized script at the moment, so I suggest you to check this option to see if it works for you.

Hm, that is sad. I'll try it, maybe it's enough already

I hope it will be enough, anyway, will be happy to get any feedback from you.
