Gray Zone Warfare/OBS/Desktop issue perhaps?

***UPDATE****

Hi guys, the recent update on Gray Zone Warfare seems to have resolved my issues with controller and ReWASD. It was down to them not having "Toggle" as an option on some of their keybinds. It all works perfectly now!

I really appreciate the support in regards to this post.

Hey guys,

So, I was playing Gray Zone Warfare last night and using ReWASD. However, at times when I was pressing certain buttons, it would pop up with OBS menus, or it would pop up the keyboard layout options from the system tray. It didn't happen all the time (I was playing for about 2hrs), but when it does, it is really frustrating while in the middle of a game.

Is there a way to have ReWASD ignore everything outside of itself? By which I mean, can I get ReWASD to ignore the other apps/desktop while I am in the game? or is this a potential bug?


I hope it makes sense what I am looking for and thanks in advance for any help.

Hello.

reWASD emulates input not for a specific application but for the system as a whole.

You might want to try using Autodetect.
Then, if the game window goes out of focus, remap will be disabled.

I tried Autodetect and it doesn't seem to work out for me.

So, it seems to be an issue in regards to certain keybinds. For example, the Esc key for bringing up a menu/inventory, or closing it. What happens is that when exiting or enter the menu/inventory, the screen flashes black, then it's like the game freezes, but there is audio from the game. But when I hit it again, I can move freely in the game.

This also happens when I use my keyboard and hit the Esc key. I need to turn off Remap in order for it to work properly. Any ideas? As the reason I am asking is that I've no issues with other games, that I can remember when using ReWASD. It just seems to be GZW. I will need to try more.

So, here is a short video where it happens. This happened in the game in less than 10mns. I have the controller at the bottom to show you what buttons I'm pressing as it happens. As you can see the keyboard/langauge pops up, plus I get blacked screen when hitting another.

Hi,

So, I did that and while I don't get the black screen from Esc key binding, I do get the keyboard shortcut still popping up. I have attached a screenshot from the Magic Wand menu to make sure I have selected everything I need to. As I am unsure if I need to have any of the other options selected.

Plus I have attached an image of my layout to make sure it is all correct.

Your layout has [Shift] and [CTRL] on [Toggle]. Those keys are known to be involved with language layout change shortcuts (e.g., CTRL+SHIFT, CTRL+SHIFT+number, ALT+SHIFT). Either change the shortcuts used to change the language in Windows or use other keys in your config.

The only reason I have them on toggle is there is no toggle option within the game. So for running I would have to hold down the Left Stick to run everywhere, rather than click it(toggle).

Okay, I have turned off the shortcuts completely in Windows. So hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Hey guys, so that worked out perfectly with the shortcut keys for the language/keyboard.

However, with the ESC key for bringing up my menu and exiting. What happens now is that the screen doesn't go black, but rather that the button at times just refuses to work, even when pressing it on the keyboard until I ALT+TAB to another window/app and back again to try to resolve. Which doesn't always work or turning of Remap to resolve it.
