  • Just trying to find a way to press X and loop

I have remote play for PS4 set up and working. I have REWASD installed. I have my PS4 controller connected to a laptop. I open REWASD and choose the X button for the PS4 controller to remap. I choose single click, execute at once, record a macro, press X on the controller multiple times, then stop recording. I go back and check the Toggle option. And then what?

After doing this, I press X on the controller and it just does an action once as though I was playing normally and never recorded a macro. I unchecked the Toggle option and checked Turbo instead and it did the same thing. I went to the lower left corner of the screen and hit the power button icon to turn [something] on and the controller stopped responding until I turned if off again.

All I want to do is record and play a macro that will repeat the X button action on a PS4 controller over and over until I stop it. I feel like this should be simple but this program is too advanced for me to figure it out and I need help. I will gladly buy the service if I can get this working before the free trial ends.

    Hey there!

If your controller stops working after turning off the config, the issue is likely unrelated to reWASD. reWASD does not affect your devices in any way without the config applied.

To achieve the desired result, you need to go to the combo editor, select the required "X" button mapping from the list provided below, then exit the combo editor and apply Toggle (if you want to spam mapping after the first press and stop after the second) or Turbo (if you want to spam mapping while holding the button).

There is no significant difference between recording a combo or creating it manually, but it is better to remove any pauses between key presses that occur during combo recording.

Also, please make sure to reapply the config after each change for it to take effect.
