  • Xbox Controller connected via Bluetooth not recognized

    Hello!

Sometimes I need to connect my Xbox controllers via Xbox Wireless adapter, and sometimes Bluetooth depending on where I'm playing. ReWASD works perfectly when connected via adapter, but when connecting via Bluetooth the controller works, but ReWASD doesn't detect it.

Based on the advice of previous threads I updated the firmware to the latest version, and I checked "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentCon trol S et\Services\mshidumdf" to make sure "Start Key" is set to 3 and the listed owners are:
    hidbthle.inf
    xinputhid.inf
    mshidumdf.inf

Any further advice would be appreciated!

    Hi!

Please check if your Xbox controller is detected in joy.cpl (Press Win + R → type joy.cpl → Enter) when connected via Bluetooth.

If it's not detected there, Windows may not be recognizing it properly.

Joy.cpl does recognize it as "Bluetooth LE XINPUT Compatible Device" and the status is "OK".

To clarify, the controller does work, reWasd just doesn't recognize it.

Hi. You can try going to Preferences and performing a Clear data.

I just performed a Clear Data. The controller connected via wireless adapter reconnected to reWASD no problem, but the Bluetooth one still doesn't show up.

Please send us a few screenshots of the FULL reWASD window showing how your controller appears in the interface.

Sure. Here's with the xbox controller connected with wireless adapter. This works as intended:

Here's with the adapter controller disconnected and the Bluetooth controller connected. It just doesn't recognize it at all:

And here are some screens of more details of the listed devices at the bottom if that helps:

Please collect the Service / Driver logs of how the device connects to the system as described in this guide.

Once you have gathered the logs, please send them to me via private messages so we can analyze the issue further.

Please try uninstalling reWASD via Programs and Features and then install the latest version from our website.

Also, try removing the old driver using this command:
                  C:\Program Files\reWASD\r1710svc.exe -drvuninstallold

If this does not help, uninstall reWASD again via Programs and Features, go to your personal account, download, and install the old version reWASD 7.2. Then uninstall it via Programs and Features as well. This should remove the old driver and will most likely resolve your issue.

                    That worked!

                    Steps I did:
                    1. Uninstall reWASD. Restart.
                    2. Install reWASD latest version from site. Restart.
                    3. run "C:\Program Files\reWASD\r1710svc.exe -drvuninstallold" from CMD.

At this point it still didn't work.So continuing:

                    4. Uninstall reWASD. Restart.
                    5. Download and install reWASD 7.2. Restart.
                    6. Uninstall reWASD. Restart.
                    7. Install latest version of reWASD. Restart.

Now it works. Only 6 restarts to get it done!

Thanks so much for the assistance!
