Is there a way to leave the stick as a stick in a way that doesn't make games panic and switch inputs between xbox & mouse+keyboard that you are aware of? I technically don't need it to map to WASD

Unfortunately, no, there is no option to prevent that (at least from the reWASD side). If the game allows you to choose input type, then this might be a solution.

Hey there!

Unfortunately, no; this is not possible. When you remap a keyboard to a controller, you can only get digital input, meaning 1 or 0.
The same type of input as on a stick would be possible with magnetic keyboards, but unfortunately, reWASD does not support them.

I game with a mouse and remapped gamepad, but the analog sticks lose out on functionality that I know exists in the controller- that is, the left stick is WASD or nothing, but were I using controller only I would be able to lightly press the stick and have the character walk instead of run. I had written it off as a limitation of my setup, but found the wooting keyboard, with full range switch motion. haven't bought one, haven't tried it but it seems like that would be the sort of thing that allows for a light press to output as a walk, and I want to know if rewasd can output the same sort of signal and have games pick up on it. Cant leave it as a stick, most games i've played freak out when you try to mix and match
