If we understand correctly and the mappings within the PC are working properly, and your controller is still connected to your console, then switching profiles is normal and not related to reWASD. In your case, the solution would be to disconnect the controller from the console.

That shouldn't be the case either because I have the dualsense disconnected (deleted bluetooth device on ps5 and the ps5 turned off).

Unfortunately, this cannot be fixed from the reWASD side as it is normal behavior of this controller.
